From 2016-2018, Dr. Joe Cerami served on the faculty of the University of St. Thomas in Houston as the Burnett Family Distinguished Chair in Leadership and Director of the new University Center for Ethical Leadership. From 2001 to 2015, he was on the faculty at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. He taught courses in national security policy and leadership studies in the Master’s Program in International Affairs. He was appointed as the founding director of the Bush School’s Public Service Leadership Program in 2002. Colonel Cerami’s (U.S. Army, Retired) last military assignment was as the chair of the Department of National Security and Strategy at the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, from 1998-2001.

Cerami completed his doctoral studies at Penn State University’s School of Public Affairs and earned a certificate for Senior Officials in National Security from the Harvard Kennedy School.
